NorbTROPIC is a Nutri-Orb, a unique, soft-green light with a specialized spectrum to support plant health and growth, for tropical plants.

NorbTROPIC A19-style grow light should only be used indoors (home or greenhouse), and how you use it is determined by what you are growing.

Growing Low-Light Tropical Plants

Place light appx. 14 to 16 inches from the top of the plants. As the plants grow, simply elevate the light to maintain this distance.

Run Time: 12 hours per day is typical. Increasing the duration is not recommended. The idea is to mimic the day length of plants that naturally grow in the shade in tropical areas.

A simple timer can be used to turn it on and off, and typically should be set to run appx. 12 hours per day, on at 7 AM and off at 7 PM.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes NorbTROPIC different from typical purple or red/blue grow lights?

Most LED grow lights use red and blue diodes that produce a pink or purple glow. NorbTROPIC uses a specialized green-enhanced spectrum designed to mimic sunlight filtered through a tropical forest canopy.

It delivers a natural white light that supports shade-loving tropical plants while keeping your space looking clean and vibrant.

What types of plants is NorbTROPIC best for?

NorbTROPIC is specifically designed for tropical shade plants and foliage varieties such as pothos, philodendron, monstera, ferns, calatheas, and other understory plants that naturally grow beneath tree canopies.

It is optimized for leafy growth rather than fruiting or high-light crops.

How is NorbTROPIC different from NorbBOTANIC?

NorbTROPIC uses a spectrum tailored specifically for tropical shade plants that thrive in filtered, forest-like light conditions.

NorbBOTANIC is designed as a full-spectrum growing light for herbs, vegetables, succulents, and a wide range of plants.

How far should NorbTROPIC be from my plants?

Position the NorbTROPIC A19 approximately 14–16 inches above the top of your tropical plants.

As plants grow, raise the fixture to maintain proper distance.

While the bulb resists humidity, avoid spraying water directly onto it.

How long should I leave NorbTROPIC on each day?

Most tropical foliage plants perform well with about 12 hours of light per day.

A simple timer can be set to turn the light on around 7AM and off around 7PM to maintain a consistent daily cycle.

Will NorbTROPIC fit in a standard light socket?

Yes. NorbTROPIC A19 uses a standard E26 medium base (compatible with E27 sockets) and fits most common lamps and fixtures, making it easy to use in homes, offices, and plant displays.

Why does NorbTROPIC have a soft green hue? Is it ok for humans?

NorbTROPIC features a specialized green-enhanced spectrum designed to mimic sunlight filtered through a tropical forest canopy, giving it a subtle soft green hue.

This creates a natural, calming environment that supports shade-loving plants while also producing a relaxing ambiance that is safe for humans — similar to the soothing effects often associated with green light environments.
